Bhubaneswar: In a heartrending accident, four persons, including two women, were killed and another person sustained severe injuries as a car carrying them hit a stationary truck from behind at Jaraka in Odisha’s Jajpru district early on Monday morning.
The car was at a very high-speed and the driver lost control over it, leading to the accident, said eyewitnesses. Though locals rescued the travellers from inside the ill-fated car, yet all the four died on the way to the hospital.
The severely injured driver has been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, according to reports.
All the deceased were identified as residents of Chandanpur under Digha area. They were coming to Cuttack for some work when the mishap occurred. Police have started investigation.
