Bhubaneswar: The annual reptile census at the Bhitarkanika National Park concluded on Wednesday.
The annual census conducted by the Odisha forest department sighted an increase of 22 crocodiles this year.
The previous year there were 1,671 estuarine crocodiles, while the numbers have increased to 1,682 this year, according to the census report.
Notably, the counting of crocodiles began from January 4. The census was conducted at Mahakalapada, Kanila, Gahiramatha and Patasala and Bhitarakanika area in Rajnagar range in Kendrapada district.
