Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today registered a case against the woman, who claims herself as the wife of BJD MLA Braja Pradhan, for vandalising the MLA's Government quarters in Unit-IV area on Wednesday.

The Kharbela Nagar police booked the woman under various Section of the IPC and other relevant sections.

On Wednesday morning the ransacked the Government quarters of the legislator in Bhubaneswar demanding that the Talcher MLA accepts her as his wife.

The 30-year-old woman destroyed flower vases on the premises of the MLA’s quarters after she was denied entry into the legislator’s Government quarters at Unit-IV. Later, Kharabela Nagar police rushed to spot and took her into the custody.

The woman has been alleging that she was subjected to physical and mental torture by the MLA. Though she filed FIR with the police, nothing tangible has happened as yet.

She alleged that Pradhan tortured her when she demanded social recognition after they got married in Jagannath Temple at Puri on April 5, 2015. She also charged that Pradhan terminated her pregnancy twice.

On the other hand, the ruling party MLA refuted the charges levelled against him by the woman saying law will take its own course.

Last week, the woman staged a dharna in front of the MLA’s paternal home in Talcher in Angul district demanding recognition.
