Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha Government already expediting the admission process for MBBS courses at the Pundit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital at Baripada in Mayurbhanj district, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan cautioned the former from repeating the Kalahandi-based Sardar Rajas and Hi-tech medical college like situation.

While talking to media today, Pradhan appealed to the Odisha Government to keep the medical infrastructure and ancillary facilities ready before going with the admission process into 100 seats of the Baripada Medical College.

Otherwise, the senior BJP leader warned, the State would end-up only creating another Sardar Rajas or Hi-Tech medical institution pushing student’s future into darkness.

On the other hand taking no time to react, the newly inducted Health Minister of Odisha Pratap Jena mocked Pradhan by claiming that, the Union Minister is edgy of Odisha Government’s public welfare initiative.

Notably, hearing an Odisha Government appeal for its intervention in the admission process of the medical college, the Supreme Court appointed Oversight Committee allowed intake of students in the MBBS seats without the Medical Council of India’s (MCI) letter of permission (LoP) for the same on May 14 this year.
