Odisha turns boiling pot, Mercury above 40°C in 9 cities

Bhubaneswar: Giving no respite to denizens in the State temperature kept on soaring in almost all parts in Odisha with nine cities recording a mercury level over 40 degree Celsius. In an addition high humidity level brought life to a grinding halt in the State capital Bhubaneswar and Millenium City Cuttack.

To go by Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre release, Malkangiri toppled Titilagarh from its place to become the hottest city in the State today with a temperature of 45.4 degree Celsius today. Titilagarh which turned into a virtual boiling pot yesterday recorded a mercury level at 44.5 degree Celsius till noon today.

Similarly, maintaining an equally hot weather Bolangir (44.3), Angul (42.7), Phulbani (41), Jharsuguda (40.9), Bhawanipatna (40.2) degree Celsius were the other cities which witnessed blistering heat wave.

Not lagging behind in the list, State capital Bhubaneswar and Millenium City Cuttack recorded 39.6 and 39.4 degree Celsius of temperature with humidity level of around 91% today.
