10 houses, 440 shops destroyed in Bhadrak: DM report

Bhubaneswar: The Bhadrak district administration on Thursday formally informed that properties worth over Rs 8 crore were damaged during communal violence that hit Bhadrak town for two days on April 6 and 7.

As announced earlier, district Collector Gyanarnajan Das submitted its damage assessment report to the State Government through Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division) AB Ota today.

According to the report, 10 residences and 440 shops were damaged as rioters belonging to groups went on rampages on the above two days. Assets worth over Rs 9 crore were destroyed.
