Bhubaneswar: Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari arrived at the Jagannath Temple, Puri to offer prayers on Friday. On Thursday, Bhandari visited Bhubaneswar-based Lingaraj Temple.
Bhandari arrived at Bhubaneswar on Thursday afternoon on a two-day Odisha tour. After having darshan at the 12th century shrine, Bhandari will proceed to Konark Sun Temple. Security has been beefed up in Puri and Konark for a smooth visit of the President of the neighbouring country.
On Thursday evening, Odisha Governor S C Jamir hosted dinner in the honour of the President where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik among many other dignitaries attended.
On the first day of her visit, Bhandari attended a women's empowerment programme at Mission Shakti Bhavan in Bhubaneswar and had darshan of Lord Lingaraj at the 11th century Shiv shrine here.
As per schedule, Bhandari will return to New Delhi by an Air India special aircraft at 2.25 PM today.
