Lakshya aircraft crashes in Balasore, nobody hurt

Bhubaneswar: The much shout-after advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) of India, the Lakshya failed during a routine and ended-up felling on a crop field in Balasore today. A team of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) immediately rushed to the spot following the incident.

While nobody was hurt in the crash, the incident left locals panicked for quite sometime.

According to reports, locals working in their crop fields in the Chandamuhi village under Baliapala block of the district heard a loud crashing sound today noon.

Reaching the spot they found a Lakshya UAV on the ground. They immediately called up the authorities of National Test Range located at Baliapala.

The DRDO personnel reached the spot and informed that it was the Lakshya UAV sent on a routine test fly from the Test Range.

While the exact cause of the crashing of the UAV is yet to be ascertained, it is believe that a technical snag could be behind it.
