Monsoon to hit Odisha by June 10: MeT

Bhubaneswar: In good news for denizens in the State suffering from blistering heatwave since months, the Meteorological department predicted Monsoon onset by June 10.

In a release, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said while the monsoon is not very far from the Odisha coast and could touch it anytime between June 8-10, Nor’wester induced rainfall is most likely to lash the northern and southern districts of the State. However, the weather condition in the interior Odisha would mostly remain dry with continuing heatwave.

Similarly, the MeT department informed that a cyclonic formation which was seen over the upper parts of the North Andhra coast might trigger rainfall at several places in Odisha.
