Bhubaneswar: Pointing at no respite for the people in the State form blistering summer, the local MeT Centre at Bhubaneswar predicted rise in temperature across Odisha from April 19.
While temperature touched 40 degree Celsius mark at several places in the State today, State capital recorded mercury level above 40 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day today.
According to the local MeT department centre here, both Sambalpur and Jharsuguda recorded 38 degree Celsius giving a small respite to residences in these cities. But on the other hand Bhubaneswar recorded a highest 40.4 degree Celsius temperature resulting in deserted streets and panicked commuters all through the day today.
While the Norwester remains a lone hope in this period of Summer, MeT department has predicted weather conditions triggered by it mostly in the Northern part of the State in next 24 hours.
Similarly, a cyclonic depression formed in the Bay of Bengal might move towards the Southern part of Odisha in 48 hours, adds the source.
