Bhubaneswar: Searing heat continued to disrupt normal life in western parts of the State with the mercury maintaining its upward trend. On Wednesday, at least eight towns recorded above 40 marks with Bolangir recording the highest day temperature at 43 degree Celsius.
While Titilagarh was the second hottest town at 42.8 degree Celsius, Sonepur recorded 42.4 degree Celsius followed by Bhawanipatna (42), Angul (41.1), Jharsuguda (40.4), Talcher (40.2) and Phulabani (40).
While State capital Bhubaneswar recorded 35.5 degree Celsius its neighbouring town Cuttack witnessed 35 degree Celsius. The heatwave condition is likely to rise from Friday across the State.
