Heatwave continues; highest in Bolangir at 44.5 degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar: Heatwave continued to sweep several parts of the State particularly in interior and western parts of the State with Bolangir recording the highest maximum temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day.

Bolangir was followed by Titilagarh (43.9), Sonepur (43), Jharsuguda (42.8), Hirakud (42.1), Sambalpur (42), Angul (41.7), Bhawanipatna (41.2), Talcher (40.8) and Phulabani (40.6), respectively.  

On Wednesday too, at least eight towns recorded above 40 marks with Bolangir recording the highest day temperature at 43 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, the local Meteorological centre warned of rise in the day temperature from April 24 in the State.
