Bhubaneswar: In a small respite for the denizens, mercury dropped across the coastal districts of Odisha today with partly cloudy skies. But on the other hand the western parts of the State turned into a boiling pot with around nine cities recording temperature above 40 degree Celsius.
According to a release of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Titilagarh maintained its top spot in the heat list with recording a temperature of 43 degree Celsius. It was followed by Bolangir at (42.5), Angul (42.1), Jharsuguda (42), Sambalpur (41.3) degree Celsius of mercury level during the day today.
Not lagging much behind in the list, the State capital Bhubaneswar recorded 37.7 degree Celsius of temperature with Cuttack at 36.6 degree Celsius.
